Let the Little Children Come to Me

Jesus told the apostles, "Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them." He went on to tell the apostles that, "Only those who become like little children can enter the kingdom of God." Those who are trying to grow closer to God should take heart from this instruction. Jesus is not saying that the learned or the theologically astute are those who are going to enter the kingdom of God but those who are like little children. The process of conversion doesn't mean learning more about God or doing more for God. It means acknowledging our smallness and insignificance before the infinite greatness and goodness of the One who created us. Conversion is knowing and accepting who we are in the eyes of God, that is, acknowledging that we are not His co-creators, but rather His created and beloved children..
