Blame

As we move along the path of conversion, we realize, sometimes after a long time, that we can't blame someone else for our problems. We need to own our problems as ours. Everyone has difficulties, but not everyone deals with them in the same way. We are responsible for how we deal with our difficulties; we can either grow closer to God through them or we can grow farther away from him. As we move along the path of conversion, we eventually come to take full responsibility for our actions and accept the consequences of them. The circumstances that may have influenced our actions are not, therefore, the cause of them. How we act was our decision. Realizing that is one sign of someone who is becoming converted to God's way of thinking.
