We hear in the Gospels that Jesus taught, preached, and performed miracles, and then took time out to pray. This is the balance that we have to develop in our own lives as we move through the process of conversion. Work and prayer is part of every converted life, and if one or the other part is missing or underdeveloped compared to the other part, our conversion will not progress as rapidly as it could. Prayer must bolster our work and work must be the result of our prayer. Keeping both in balance is part of the ongoing converted life.
