Altar to an Unknown God

In the book of Acts (Acts 17), Paul relates how the Greeks built an altar to an unknown God. Paul preached to the people about Jesus and explained how the God they worshipped without knowing him was the God who actually knew them. We may think that we are beyond this sort of pagan worship, but what takes our time and attention? Are we thinking about God most of the day or about something else? Have we built an altar to some God other than the true God?

If something else, that can have taken the place of God and become our pagan unknown God. If you want to be truly converted to God, we must examine our lives to see if we are actually worshiping an unknown God. Unknown to us, but very well known to the Lord of hosts. Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal this god to you so that you can begin to remove its influence from your life.
