A New Commandment

As part of the Last Supper discourse, Jesus said, " "A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another." (John 13:34) Jesus also told us that one has no greater love than to lay down one's life for one's friends. (John 15:13). But he also told us to forgive our enemies. And to do good to those who hate us. what Jesus is saying, it appears that he is telling us that we need to treat our enemies like we would treat our friends. Our friends, according to the Lord, are everyone as each person is a son or daughter of God. A good part of conversion is accepting with joy that we are part of the good, the bad, and the ugly in the human family. This is because God is the father of all of us.
